Connection flow
When you enable the Finance module, Wingmnn launches the Plaid Link widget. You search for your bank, log in with your banking credentials (entered directly into Plaid's secure interface, never shared with Wingmnn), and authorize access. The whole process takes about a minute.
Read-only access
Plaid connections are strictly read-only. Wingmnn can view your account balances and transaction history but can never move money, make payments, or initiate transfers. This is enforced at the Plaid API level — we don't even have the capability.
Supported banks
Plaid supports over 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, and UK, including major banks (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi), credit unions, and fintech platforms (Robinhood, Coinbase, Venmo). Search for your institution in the Plaid Link widget to check availability.
Reconnecting
Bank connections occasionally need reauthorization when your bank changes security requirements or your credentials are updated. Wingmnn alerts you when a connection needs attention. Reconnect from Settings > Connections — your historical data is preserved during the reauthorization.
