Gmail & Outlook

Email provider setup, OAuth permissions, troubleshooting tips, and what data is accessed.

Setup

Go to Settings > Connections and choose Gmail or Outlook. You'll be redirected to Google or Microsoft to authorize access. The OAuth flow requests permission to read your emails and send on your behalf (only when you explicitly compose a message through Wingmnn).

Permissions explained

For Gmail, we request the gmail.readonly and gmail.send scopes. For Outlook, we request Mail.Read and Mail.Send. These are the minimum permissions needed for the Mail module to function. We never request access to your Google Drive, OneDrive, or other unrelated services.

Troubleshooting

If your email stops syncing, the most common causes are: an expired OAuth token (reconnect from Settings), a changed password (reauthorize), or a corporate policy blocking third-party access (check with your IT admin). The connection status indicator in Settings shows green, yellow, or red based on sync health.

What data is accessed

Wingmnn reads email headers (from, to, subject, date), body text, and label/folder information. Attachments are referenced by name and size but not downloaded unless you explicitly open them. We do not access drafts unless you create them through Wingmnn.
